Ritorno all’Opera

The Ritorno All’Opera Association  was founded in Imperia in 2008, with the aim of promoting and promoting great music and opera by pairing internationally renowned artists with talented young artists and offering them the opportunity to perform at the highest level in prestigious theatres.

For years, we have organized events that have received great critical and public acclaim in some of  Northern Italy ‘s most prestigious theaters .
The Association’s interests range from full-length operas to concerts, operettas, and classical music performances, both indoors and outdoors.
Having organized more than four hundred events, we can therefore boast consolidated experience and a high level of quality in staging events, festivals, and entire musical seasons.

In  Imperia  and its province, the Association presented opera seasons from 2011 to 2015 (the year the Theatre closed), with prestigious titles including the Opera Nabucco in 2011, the Concert to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy, and the concert by Maestro Uto Ughi, who performed for the first time at the Teatro Cavour in Imperia.

Over the years, the festival has attracted international stars such as soprano Mariella Devia, dancer Liliana Così, Susanna Rigacci, the internationally renowned voice of Morricone, and many others.

We have staged shows in various locations in  Tuscany , at the Teatro Moderno in  Grosseto  with operas and a concert by Maestro Uto Ughi, in  Viareggio  at the Teatro Politeama, bringing Opera back after many years in 2013 with Rigoletto and concerts by Maestro Uto Ughi, and at the Teatro Verdi in  Montecatini Terme .

The Verdi Theatre itself, together with our Association, will promote the show “Homage to Ennio Morricone” in cities such as  Turin ,  Naples ,  Modena ,  Milan ,  Sanremo  and many others.

From 2008 to 2011, he was responsible for the artistic direction of the  Varese Ligure Summer Festival , with the operas “Traviata”, “Don Pasquale”, “Rigoletto” and “Nabucco”.

In 2011, after many years of absence, we brought Opera back to the Teatro Nuovo in  Ferrara  with Traviata, followed by the concert season with a concert by Maestro Uto Ughi.

In  Loano  , at the Giardino del Principe, we created the classical section of the Summer Festival from 2011 to 2015, with Opera, Operetta, and Concerts.

Since 2018, we have been collaborating continuously with various municipalities in the city of  Milan , with several prestigious chamber music concerts.

Between 2017 and 2020, the Association organised opera seasons at the prestigious Teatro Civico in  Vercelli , at the Teatro Openjobmetis in  Varese  and at the Teatro Sociale in  Busto Arsizio .

Another important and prestigious goal achieved in 2013 was the collaboration between “Ritorno all’Opera” and the Ariston Theater in  Sanremo,  where on May 16, 2013, a major concert by the great violinist Uto Ughi was performed, marking the theater’s 50th anniversary, along with a grand performance of the opera Aida.
